PT Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) has teamed up with Bali Tourism Polytechnic (Poltekpar Bali) to organize a collaborative Community Service Program (PKM) aimed at improving the service standards of local businesses at Beach Resort in Nusa Dua. This initiative, held on October 10–11, 2024, focuses on equipping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), specifically beach vendors, with the necessary skills to provide world-class service to tourists.
Enhancing the Competency of Local SMEs at Nusa Dua Beach Resort
I Putu Trisna Wijaya, Group Head of Operation & Service for The Nusa Dua, officially opened the collaborative training program alongside Dr. I Gusti Agung Gede Witarsana from Poltekpar Bali. Sixty participants from the Beach Vendors Association in the Nusa Dua area joined this capacity-building initiative. Which aims to align service quality with international standards at one of Bali’s top destinations—Nusa Dua Beach Resort.
This structured training was designed to empower local SMEs to deliver exceptional service, directly contributing to the overall quality of Nusa Dua Resorts. “Strengthening the role of SMEs is a strategic move to support local tourism,” said Wijaya. “The beach vendors play a vital role in maintaining both the cultural and economic sustainability of Nusa Dua.”

Focused Training for Service Excellence at Nusa Dua Resorts
The training sessions were split into two parts. The first part covered hospitality skills, such as interacting with customers, communicating in multiple languages, and providing excellent service. This is crucial as Nusa Dua family resorts cater to international guests, and the ability to communicate effectively in different languages, including Mandarin, enhances the overall experience.

Another key focus of the training was cross-cultural understanding, designed to help local vendors at beachfront resorts in Nusa Dua interact more effectively with tourists from diverse backgrounds. “We aim for our participants to not only gain new skills but also to implement them in their daily work,” said Dr. Witarsana from Poltekpar Bali.
Practical Training for Better Services at Family-Friendly Resorts
During the second day, the participants took part in practical activities such as role-playing scenarios. These activities helped them practice their new skills in real-life situations. This hands-on training aims to improve the quality of service at Nusa Dua family resorts, aiming to make them some of the best family resort options in Nusa Dua.
The collaborative program between ITDC and Poltekpar Bali is a clear example of how partnerships between educational institutions and the tourism sector can lead to better services at family-friendly resorts in Nusa Dua. With enhanced skills and knowledge, local vendors can contribute to the area’s reputation as a top-tier destination, providing exceptional Nusa Dua Beach Resort service.
This program not only boosts the competitiveness of local SMEs but also strengthens their role in supporting sustainable tourism in Bali. Ensuring Nusa Dua Beach Resort remains a favorite choice for families and international tourists alike.
